Many of us have apps installed on our phones and computers that take a quick snapshot whenever there’s a failed attempt at logging in. More often than not, it’s just a blurry photo of us after accidentally punching in the wrong security code, but sometimes it’s something far more terrifying.
After packing it in and heading to bed, a man named Brian left his phone plugged in on the first floor of his second story home, but when he woke in the morning, he noticed that someone had tried to access his device. When he checked the snapshot, a strange photo awaited him.
The picture, which was taken at 1:19am by the CM Security app, shows a seriously creepy humanoid face staring directly into the camera lens. Understandably, the first thing Brian assumed was that someone had broken into the house in the dead of night, but after having spent the next day searching for evidence of intrusion, Brian was sure no one had broken in.
Brian quickly took to Reddit’s /r/paranormal message board to share the ghostly image, where it was subsequently cleaned up and made twice as terrifying.
Of course, there’s always room for errors and hoaxes, but there’s no denying the image is a creepy one. I don’t know about you, but if I found that one my phone, I’d probably start making some plans to move… or at least start keeping my phone locked away at night.
