25 Year Old Mother and Child Killed After Witchcraft Accusation
Chhindwara district woman and her three year old son were burned to death after village neighbors declared her a witch.
25-year-old Neelu was at home with her 3 year old son Shubham when two men broke into her home calling her a tonhi (sorceress) and declaring that she was to face the village council for accusations of witchcraft.
The men, Kailash Marskole and Arvind, then beat Neelu before pouring kerosene on both mother and child and setting them fire. Onlookers rushed to put the blaze out and the victim and her child were quickly to the local hospital.
Sadly both passed away on the way to the hospital.

According to the Hindustan Times, the attack came after Neelu, who had recently moved to the area to live with her parents, found herself in an argument with one of the elderly townspeople.
