Singer Lucia Cordaro1 claims to have authentic footage of a fairy flitting past her security camera.
“There was this thump on my living room window and I thought someone had chucked something at the window. I thought ‘Ha – gotcha!’ because I knew it would be caught on my CCTV. When I looked on the camera I thought, ‘That’s a bit odd’. ‘I thought, ‘If that’s a butterfly it looks a lot like a fairy…” I mean, what are the chances? It’s very strange.”2
See for yourself.
It certainly fits the anticipated shape of a fairy, but so do chironomids. Chironomidae are non-biting midges resembling mosquitos, and if a camera is out of focus one could believe they look like tiny, winged humans. The entity in the video harkens back to John Hyatt’s fairy photographs, covered by our own Ritoban Mukherjee last April.3 John claims to have photographed several fairies in Rossendale Valley.4
Self-described debunkers5 claim they know more than everyone else, having magically deblurred Hyatt’s photos.
It is interesting to note Lucia didn’t post the footage on her YouTube page, having gone directly to the Daily Mail6 and the Metro.7 That’s a more compelling case for hoaxing than outright crying bugs.
